Bingo Winnings and Donations Go To North Bend

Residents made Care Packages for victims of recent flooding in North Bend, Nebraska, that were delivered with cash and other donations on Wednesday, March 20. The Lexington Assisted Living Center’s bookkeeper of 17 years, Pat Spencer, and maintenance director Ted Marxsen, are both from North Bend, Nebraska, and still have family there. When Residents and staff wanted to help out fellow Nebraskans devastated by recent flooding, Ted offered to drive truckloads of supplies the 55 miles himself and on his own time. Residents donated their Bingo winnings that The Lexington matched for a total of $150, so far. Family members of current and former Residents have been dropping off donations every day this week. To date, The Lexington has collected $1500 of supplies.

“Everyone wanted to help out,” said Administrator Candy Herzog. “We all know someone who has been effected by these destructive floods. Making a contribution as a group is how we can help out from our little corner of the world.”
